Supporting Our Community

Optometrist serving the community, Drummoyne and beyond

As an independent optometrist, we also like to support the community that has embraced our services for over 30 years. We work with local charities, schools and preschools in Drummoyne and across neighbouring suburbs like Five Dock, Russell Lea and Abbotsford.

We also support leading national and international vision charities, including:

  • The Lions Club’s Recycle For Sight project, where patients can donate their old glasses for reuse in developing countries; and
  • Optometry Giving Sight, whose World Sight Day Challenge in October each year is a focal point for our fundraising.

Drummoyne and our local community

Drummoyne Optometry takes a keen interest in supporting our local community through fundraising initiatives and awareness-raising. Whether it is a prize donation for a preschool trivia night, partnering with local businesses, supporting local charities, we value connection with our community.

Lions Club Recycle for Sight

We support Lions Recycle for Sight, an initiative of Lions Clubs International, recycling used glasses for re-use in remote and impoverished communities here and abroad. You can drop off your used glasses to us and we will send them off to Lions Recycle for Sight.

World Sight Day

We get behind this wonderful initiative and in October you will see us wearing our World Sight Day t-shirts to raise awareness and funds for OGS projects. For more information about World Sight Day, visit their website at www.givingsight.org
